Presentation

Nestling in a natural setting in the heart of the Vonne valley, the Gallo-Roman site at Sanxay covers some 15 hectares and is one of the region's most remarkable heritage sites.

This guided tour allows you to discover the archaeological site from a natural perspective, through the monumental encyclopaedia, Natural History, by the 1st-century Roman writer and naturalist Pliny the Elder. In his work, Pliny mentions a number of plants found on the Sanxay site.
